Preparing Wild Bamboo Shoots

Pu prepares some wild bamboo shoots while talking with Mama. The shoots are gathered by the locals from the nearby mountains, just outside of Khon Kaen, Thailand. They are very fibrous, and must by cut into thin flakes, as they will be added raw into a soup base. You can se Pu’s “whittling” technique near the end of the video. It certainly helps to have long nails when peeling them, as well!
